There goes more of my childhood up in smoke

I woke up to see my sister's facebook status "is sad the pier has burned down" and looked to see what she was talking about (although there's only ONE pier we'd care about, really).
We spent many hours there when we were children. I'm sad to see it go. And, like my sister, I too was hoping to go back there some day.
My childhood is slowly disappearing. First, it was the closure of RAF Locking, and now this fire.

OH MY GOD, I'm BORED!
In perfect honesty, there isn't much that I can teach her. The job is different every day and the best way to learn is to sit at the desk/computer and browse to see what's been done in the past.

I'm done!
I'd been hanging on to them in my filing cabinet 'just in case' I felt the need for a smoke break. Also, at $10 a pack I didn't want to just throw them away...it would feel like such a waste.
I haven't felt that need since I got knocked up so today, when the co-worker mentionned that she was out of smokes, I gave them to her. They're probably stale but she didn't care...she was completely out.
Bless her heart, she tried to make me keep some of them in case I still had the urge, but honestly, I don't.
And this is a good thing.
Don't get me wrong...I've not become a radical anti-smoker. I still miss smoking, I miss the breaks, I miss the taste, the smell, and yes, the nicotine...but I don't miss them enough to want to go for a smoke any time in the near future.
(In exchange, she just brought me a chocolate popsicle. I just swapped one vice for another...)

Good news-Bad news
- We don't have to buy a new dryer to replace our 'broken' one. It's not actually broken.
- There's a frikkin' nest of Starlings in our dryer vent blocking it (and therefore not letting the moisture from the dryer escape etc). We have to call the landlord to come get rid of the nest and put in a new vent cover to replace the one the damned birds have jimmied open. The vent is WAY up high near the roof - we don't own a ladder.
- We're not homeowners and WE don't have to fix it. That's the landlord's job.
- Starlings are icky and I don't feel any remorse in kicking them out of their home (although I'm not totally heartless and we'll wait to call the landlord until after the chicks are hatched).
We discovered this yesterday. I'd had my suspicions for a little while. It also explains why Norm went ape-shit crazy about getting in to the dryer the other day.
